Bankai
Bankai is the full manifestation of a Shinigami’s Zanpakuto power in Type://Soul. It is the most powerful form available to the Shinigami race, adding two extra high-damage abilities on top of your existing Shikai moves. Bankai gives a decisive edge in both PvP combat and PvE boss fights.

How to Obtain
Unlocking Bankai is a multi-stage process:
- Stage 1 — Raids: Win 13 Raids (Karakura Town raids do not count toward the total).
- Stage 2 — Kill Streak: Accumulate kills while staying alive. If you die, your Stage 2 progress resets completely — this is the most punishing step.
- Stage 3 — Kisuke Trial: Speak to the Kisuke NPC in the Karakura Town gardens. Enter the sword arena and find the 3 correct swords among many. Meditate and confront your Shikai Spirit Boss. Defeat it, interact with it during the cutscene, and Bankai is permanently unlocked.
Abilities
Bankai adds two signature moves to your hotbar:

Notes
- Bankai abilities are noticeably stronger than Shikai skills and are the primary reason Shinigami dominate in end-game PvP.
- Stage 2 kill-streak resets on death — consider grinding in lower-risk zones or private servers.
- There is a rare Secret Bankai variant (e.g., Reaper Secret Bankai) with unique visuals and enhanced stats.
- Bankai does not change your Shikai element — it amplifies it.
