Sheriff’s Gun
The Sheriff’s Gun is the defining item of the Sheriff role in Murder Mystery 2. Every round, one player is randomly assigned the Sheriff role and receives this gun — the only weapon in the game capable of shooting and eliminating the Murderer before they kill all Innocents. The gun has a single-shot mechanic by default: if the Sheriff misses or shoots an Innocent, they lose their gun (and may even be eliminated by the Murderer as a result).
Cosmetic gun skins can be equipped to change the appearance of the Sheriff’s Gun while keeping its gameplay function identical. These skins range in rarity from Common to Godly and are a major collectible focus in MM2.

- Crafting — some gun skins can be crafted using shards
Notes
- The Sheriff’s Gun is the most strategically important item in MM2 — identifying and shooting the right target wins the round for Innocents
- Shooting an Innocent causes the gun to drop on the ground; any player (including the Murderer) can pick it up
- Several Godly and Chroma gun skins exist and are highly valued by collectors, mirroring the knife trading economy
- The Murderer can disguise their throwing knife as a “gun shot” sound by holding a picked-up gun, which is a common bait tactic
