Shadow Beast
The Shadow Beast is a supernatural ambush predator in 99 Nights in the Forest. Unlike the Wendigo, which hunts openly, the Shadow Beast conceals itself in deep shadows and strikes without warning. Its near-invisibility in dark areas makes it one of the most dangerous threats to players who venture far from their campfire.

Survival Strategies
- Always carry a Flashlight — it’s the only reliable way to detect and deter Shadow Beasts
- Sweep your flashlight beam around the perimeter of camp before settling in for the night
- The Iron Axe can kill a Shadow Beast in 3–4 hits if you can keep your light on it
- Build your Campfire large and bright — Shadow Beasts will not enter a well-lit clearing
- Travel in pairs at night; one player holds the light, the other holds a weapon ready
